On Thursday 22 February at the KIVI headquarters, a group of senior engineers from the Royal Netherlands Navy received mentor training in accordance with the Professional Registration assessment process. This was to supplement the new pilot group within the Royal Netherlands Navy who are starting their journey to becoming Chartered Engineers and Incorporated Engineers with KIVI.
The training went extremely well, with a lot of interaction and interesting discussions. The senior engineers are now trained to help advise and guide the pilot group, providing a great support structure within the company.
Completing the review process, particularly the assessment portfolio requires a lot of thought and can take some time. For many it is probably the first time they have taken the time to reflect on and consider their entire career and experience up to that point. Not to mention what they learnt, the decisions made, and the various responsibilities they held. Therefore, through discussion and peer review, mentors can really help candidates to reflect on their experiences so they can consider them in relation to the Professional Review process.
We look forward to a successful review process for the pilot group!
