The annual meeting of the International Engineering Alliance, IEA took place on zoom instead of in Cape Town.
The Secretary General Chartered Engineering, dr.ir. Antoinette Vietsch was invited by the IPEA Executive Committee to held a short presentation on 24 June 2020 at 2.30 CEST. The presentation was to support the application of the membership of the International Professional Engineers Agreement, IPEA.
As part of the application accreditation of the Chartered Engineering process at KIVI was done in 2019 by Ir. Lee Boon Chong FIEM, PE Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), Dr. Jeffrey Mahachi Pr.Eng, Pr.CPM, FSAICE Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and Dr. Shawn Lee PE, FASHRAE National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). One problem remained: our universities are not accredited by institutes with ACE-label but by organisations which are member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). This is caused by the legislation in the Netherlands.
Therefore KIVI is cannot become a full member of IPEA. We are proud that KIVI’s provisional membership of the IPEA has been extended.
The conference was closed on 26 June 2020.
