In early October, delegates from Engineers Ireland visited KIVI to discuss their application process for the International Engineering Alliance (IEA). Engineers Ireland has provided support to the mentoring process. The delegation from Engineers Ireland comprised: Damien Owens – Director General, Shirley McDonald – Membership Director and Keith Sunderland – Registrar. In the afternoon, KIVI and Engineers Ireland exchanged information about their respective professional bodies and professional registration systems.
During the evening meeting, the discussions expanded to include delegates from the Engineering Council UK: Katy Truff (Deputy Chief Executive Officer Head of Policy & Standards) and Marta Cipolla (International Senior Executive). The joint meeting proved highly fruitful. Conversations focused on the self-assessment aspect of the IEA application and a thorough review of the associated reports. The Engineers Ireland and the Engineering Council UK provided valuable support, specifically aiding in the mentoring process.
KIVI’s delegation is Pascal van der Molen – KIVI’s Director and Registrar, and Navin Sewberath Misser, Sander Fiévez from the Chartership Committee, Eelco Schrik and Roel Tersteeg from the Board of the Chartered Engineering section, and the KIVI Chartership Team – Andries Ritsema and Susan Sun.
