Your CPD Record is how you track your required CPD hours

It is different from your general plans, but can still be used when creating reports.
Adding a ‘Completed’ task logs your CPD hours

In order to move a task to completed, you must complete all fields in the task box (except labels). This insures that you have allocated the task with a competence, a category, hours, evidence and a reflection statement. Reflective thinking is an important part of Chartership.

Only ‘Completed’ tasks on your CPD Record will be logged as recorded CPD hours.

Evidence

Evidence can be anything that offers proof of the CPD activity. For example, a photograph of an event or submission ticket, a one page report on your self-study, drawings etc.

Spot checks

Adherence to the required CPD policy will be monitored by random spot checks.

Use next CPD period

You can use this option if you have exceeded your limit with a certain competence or category, or have a surplus of CPD hours. Your CPD Overview page will give you details on the competences and categories you have already allocated.

Read more about CPD and CPD categories here.

Notice the extra fields that do not appear in general plan tasks.

You must maintain your Chartership through CPD

The full CPD policy can be found in the section ‘Documents’
Required number of CPD hours

A minimum of 100 hours over a period of two years. These have been distributed among the five competence areas.

  • 40 hours: Competence A and B
  • 10 hours: Competence C
  • 10 hours: Competence D
  • 15 hours: Competence E
  • 25 hours: These can be allocated to any of the competence areas.

You will receive a reminder 3 months and 1 month before your CPD period is due to end. Your next CPD period will begin automatically.

Categories

CPD tasks must be assigned a category. Some categories, like courses and seminars have no maximum amount of hours, whilst ‘Self-Study’ have a maximum limit of hours imposed on them. This ensures a variety of CPD activities.
