The Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI), granted the Chartered Engineer accreditation to the Shell Global Solutions International Round II Certificate Programme. The accreditation of the Round II certificate program was officially signed on 6 December 2016 by KIVI Director Micaela dos Ramos and David Steward, VP Wells Discipline.
The title Chartered Engineer (CEng) is an internationally recognised qualification for engineers around which a learned society is created, whereby the acquisition and sharing of expertise, continuous professional development, and professional and social commitment are key. The Shell Round II Certificate Program meets the requirements to provide certificate holders access to it.
Once a candidate has obtained the status of Chartered Engineer they will then be required to fulfil the mandatory Continued Professional Development (CPD). The CPD policy has been put in place to ensure that engineers maintain the standards of Chartership by being continually and professionally engaged at a high level.
As a professional association for engineers KIVI is committed to supporting its members in their professional development and to provide a multidisciplinary network of engineers, companies and academics. With this we hope that many Shell Engineers can be awarded with Chartered Engineer status through KIVI and we very much look forward to developing this relationship further in the coming years.
