On September 15, 2020, the Secretary General Chartered Engineering, dr.ir. Antoinette Vietsch signed on behalf of KIVI the statutes of the European alliance for mutual recognition of certification of engineering competencies, Enginet. KIVI is thus one of the founding fathers. The other founding fathers are: the Italian CERT-ING Agency, the Société Nationale des Ingénieurs Professionnels de France (SNIPF), the Portugal Ordem dos Engenheiros, the British Engineering Council and from Spain the Association of Professional Engineers of Spain (AIPE) and the Agency for Qualification of Professional Engineers (AQPE). Enginet aims to “mutual recognition and a common network regarding the certification of competencies for engineers, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the value of Engineers worldwide, without distinction of borders and to allow their free mobility in a shared and qualified job market”..
The idea for Enginet was born at the First European Forum for Professional Engineering on 26 May 2017 in Barcelona. It was later elaborated in several meetings such as the one at KIVI’s office on 2 and 3 December 2019. Enginet is a non-profit association.
